Happy news: My baby took her first steps today! 3 in fact, it was very exciting :) I bet she will be walking in no time!
Sad sad news: yesterday my cruising, reaching, grabbing baby pulled my camera off the desk and onto the floor. No damage looked to be done and forget about it ( I was making dinner) Anyway this morning when I went out to take some pictures it wouldn't focus correctly :(
*tear, sigh, sniffle* It is my NEW 50mm f1.4 lens! Anyone have any advice on getting it fixed? Do I send it to Canon or find someone local?
sniffle....

ugh...once i dropped mine. no baby to blame for it. and then it wasn't focusing correctly. i could have cried.
i readjusted the little bars next to the viewfinder {an up and down slide kind of thing} and it seemed to have solved my troubles.
maybe that's all it is.
{{fingers crossed}} for you....
she is a doll baby. so cute!
That sucks! I dropped my camera on to my desk (it was literally like 2 inches off it - not a long fall) and it wouldn't focus either. I turned it on and off a few times and eventually worked... Have you tried that? Probably. Sorry! Hope you get it fixed fast, I love your pictures, especially this one!
Take it off and then put it back on the camera. It may have just become unseated the focus connector.
If that doesn't work, the lens will still be under warranty. All the big camera companies have official repair facilities in the NYC area. I've sent a couple of Nikon items in for warranty repair, and you pay only for shipping. It's probably similar for Canon. Call 1-800-OK-CANON to get started.
Really sorry to hear about your camera. Sadly I have no helpful advice for you. Beautiful photo though. Love how you've captured the sunlight. A well done to your little one on her first steps. Now this is where it gets exciting!!
